I was drawn to pole because I used to be a gymnast, and I wanted to try something new when I started uni last year and I figured I'd be good at pole because of my background. Another reason I joined was because I think pole dancing is so pretty to look at, and I love getting dressed up and performing routines. I express the fact that I'm a pole dancer mainly by posting my progress on social media.

LGBTQ+:

I fit into this community because I'm bi. I was drawn to this community when I realised I was bi when I was 13. I try not to hide my identity, unless outing myself would put me in danger, but I'm usually safe to express myself. I try to express myself by subtly wearing the bi pride flag, for example painting my nails pink, purple, and blue.

Alternative:

I listen to some alternative music like Mother Mother and Panic! at the Disco. I was drawn to this type of music because it's popular with the LGBTQ+ community. I express myself as an alt-girl with the way I dress, and how I do my hair and makeup. I'm not sure which specific style label I fit into (maybe a mix of k-fashion, kawaii, kinderwhore, and soft grunge?), I just wear lots of pleated skirts with knee-high socks and lots of pastel pink.

I definitely believe that the communities we're in help make up our identity because it can affect the way we present ourselves, and the way I dress is a big part of my personality.
