Communities I consider myself apart of: pole dancing, feminist movement

The pole dancing community has lead me to become a much more confident individual, it’s helped me become more in love with my ability to express myself on my own terms. It ties in a lot with my views on sexual liberation that I have taken from the post feminist movement. In a world where females are constantly ridiculed for being either too ‘slutty’ or too much of a ‘prude’, the pole dancing and feminist community have made me proud of MY body and my ability to choose how I wish to show it.

I feel as though communities can create a security for people potentially struggling with identify. But people should always strive to not let their community define , who they are as individuals and remember they are always their own person first and foremost
