Super Crits are chance to get our work reviewed before a big assessment. The idea is that we present our work to our own crit group but also to another group to get the best reviews, criticisms & general ideas.
However, it absolutely did not go to plan. I was first to present at 10:30am and I received very little feedback on the project off the other group. Their tutor was very helpful, the girls in my group were and my tutor too. This was the vibe for the rest of the day and was an immense source of frustration for my group as we ended up with very little feedback off the other group and we felt we should have just had a normal crit if the other group didn't feel like sharing.
Feedback comes in different forms, some people look at how something was made where other people share artists, stories etc
However little feedback I got, I still got some which was -
Kiss My Gender - a collaborative art show exploring gender identity. It's now immortalized in book which I might buy.
Someone said they loved my style

"Interesting use of text, maybe look at Gillian Wearing"
Slipknot reference was admired
Told to look at the debate around Lizzo - I'm not 100% what they meant though as I don't listen to rap or pop music
If I work into the pole stuff, research around the sex workers union, spearmint rhino debate
Dr Gemma Aherne, she researched sex workers in Liverpool
Alison J Carr, explores showgirl and performance
Some of it helpful but a lot of it points to a direction I'm not working in, with the majorly of the feedback coming from one person. I think if another super crit came up I'd say no unless it was with another group.
